Point-of-care alcohol abstinence monitoring test for EtG

Technologies have the second generation EtG 300ng/ml, the first and only point of-care alcohol abstinence monitoring tool/test for EtG.

Alcohol is the most commonly abused substance observed by Drug and DWI courts, Parole & Probation, County Courts, and all other programs that monitor substance abuse activities.

Results of the 300ng/ml cutoff EtG

  • Dramatically reduce cost of abstinence testing program
  • 80 hour detection window with direct marker to indicate past alcohol ingestion
  • EtG is not detected in urine of abstinent subjects
  • 300ng/ml cut-off level: Gold Standard for Criminal Justice use.
  • NO CROSS REACTION after use of mouthwash or hand sanitizers due to 300ng/ml cutoff
  • Negative results can be read in less than one minute
  • Positive results stable for 2 hours
  • Fast incubation time of 15 seconds/Results can be read immediately after incubation

What is EtG?
Ethyl glucuronide or EtG, is a unique biological marker of alcohol use. While there are many types of alcohol, including rubbing alcohol, methanol, acetone (nail polish remover), and ethanol (beverage alcohol), EtG testing is specific for alcohol found in alcoholic beverages.

Performance Characteristics:
Interdiction’s Ethyl glucuronide (EtG) test was evaluated in comparison to a commercially available EtG Enzyme Immunoassay Test (EIA). One hundred and fifty five (155) clinical samples were tested. All positive samples were confirmed by Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LCMS)
